List of ships arrived at New York, 1796-1798.

Manuscript volume, 1796-1798, listing ships arrived in New York, the names of their captains, their ports of departure, and the time taken for the voyage to New York. Most of the voyages listed originated in Europe and the West Indies, though there are some originating in ports in North America, and a few in remoter ports such as Calcutta or Canton. There is also a column for remarks, which is almost always used for news of other ships: it records safe arrivals, wrecks, and seizures by privateers, the British, and the French.
